Jason and Sarah had a DIY-centric wedding with their closest friends and family overlooking a gorgeous lake in beautiful British Columbia. Their day was so perfect, keep reading to see all the thought and care they took in making this day so amazing.
Sarah & Jason are DIY rockstars! They wanted to create a romantic/elegant vibe but sourcing the decor during the shutdown was tricky… A little pivoting, and a reach into their skill bank… and Sarah ended up sewing all the draping and table runners, while Jason made all the draping hardware!
They even have talented DIY friends… they bought our Lilac & Lavendar DIY floral package, and then handed the reins to a family friend – with stunning results!! The variety of purples in the package blended perfectly into their lilac and silver-themed wedding, really giving it a multi-dimensional feel. BUT…. enough chatting about how talented this couple is, let’s talk about their wedding!
Jason and Sarah always knew they wanted to get married in the mountains. Combined with their connection to the Kootenay Valley (their favorite place to camp!)… it seemed fitting to get married at Halcyon Hot Springs. In classic BC style…there was smoke in the air, but somehow, it cleared up the morning of the wedding – even the rain held off in their favor, just until the signature portion though…but hey, made for GORGEOUS photos!
Since the shutdown had prevented them from seeing any part of the venue until the day before the wedding, they were a bit nervous about how all the decor would work. Danielle (from Wild Smile Events) and Melissa (from Halcyon Hot Springs) set it all up…perfectly to their vision.
I always ask my couples…. what was a memorable part of your special day… Sarah shared the following, she is such a sweet, genuine person, and her friends sound just as lovely as her…
From Sarah – “In all, the whole day was my favorite. In particular though, when I was at the altar and looked up at the arch florals the friend had put together, I noticed that she had included clear balls filled with foliage. I didn’t ask her to but she noticed them in the picture I sent her. I was thinking it was too much trouble but to see that she was able to create the flowers of my dreams was really touching.”
Thanks Sarah and Jason for having You Floral a part of your wedding…we love seeing your creativity and how you made your vision come to life – best of luck to all your future endeavors… if you approach life how you approach DIY’ing – you’re going to rock it!
xoxo
