Wedding Venue

My Garden Wedding” in Oyama, now closed down

Reason why you decided to DIY

Affordability, to give my creative juices an opportunity to flow, have total creative control over the look and sizing of bridal and bridesmaids bouquets, a special memory with my bridesmaids creating the bouquets the day before

Tips for other folks who might DIY

Give yourself plenty of time to create the arrangements in a decent sized setup. Pull out your flowers, check them, and get them in water immediately upon arrival (Sarah is amazingly responsive if some florals didn’t travel well and need replacing). If you can help it, maybe don’t have an outdoor wedding on a 36 degree day lol.

Planning inspiration

Pinterest takes you down a HOLE! A wonderful, inspiring, hole, but one that could have you, like me, questioning your theme and color scheme repeatedly. What I found helped was to save everything that inspired or spoke to me, then I went back through and recognized the colors/themes that made up the majority. That’s what I was repeatedly being pulled to, which told me where my heart was for my vision.
